Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1275m)
Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will complete your customs formalities (visa, etc.). Look for our representative holding the trek company display board, who will assist you with your transfer to a hotel such as Hotel Manang or a comparable establishment. Includes bed and breakfast.
Day 2: Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (1500m)
The trek begins with an early morning drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi. After a 6–7‑hour journey, you will arrive at Syabru Besi at an elevation of approximately 1550 metres – the official starting point for treks into the Langtang region. Enjoy majestic views of Manaslu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal as you travel along winding roads to the quaint village, where you will spend the night in a guest house. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 3: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel (2480m)
After breakfast in Syabru Besi, set off on a trek through oak and rhododendron forests, with varied ascents and descents, until you reach Langtang Khola. Cross a river via a bridge and then ascend a steep trail leading to Lama Hotel at 2480 metres, where you will stay for the night. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 4: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3500m)
Departing from Lama Hotel, the trail ascends steadily while offering splendid mountain views and cascading waterfalls. As you approach Ghoda Tabela (‘horse stables’), the Langtang range gradually reveals itself. Continue your gentle climb past grazing yaks until you reach the traditional village of Langtang at 3500 metres, where you will spend the night in a guest house. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 5: Langtang Village to Kyangjin (3910m)
This relatively short and easy trek aids acclimatisation as you cross the 3000‑metre mark. Along the way, you will pass Mani walls, chortens, prayer flags and intricately carved holy rocks. After roughly 4 hours of trekking, you will enter a charming valley with unique features to explore. In the afternoon, you may choose to visit local cheese factories to sample delicious produce or explore the Buddhist shrine at Kyangjin Gompa. You will spend the night in Kyangjin at 3910 metres. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 6: Kyangjin Rest Day (Optional Tsekori Hike up to 5000m)
Enjoy a well-deserved rest day in Kyangjin, giving you time to acclimatise and absorb the surroundings. You may take a leisurely walk along the moraine to admire the glaciers of Langtang Lirung, or, if you’re feeling adventurous, opt for an extended hike to Tsekori – reaching up to 5000 metres and taking approximately 8–9 hours round‑trip. Alternatively, consider ascending to the highest point of the trek at 4350 metres for panoramic views of the Langtang peaks. Return to Kyangjin for an overnight stay. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 7: Kyangjin to Lama Hotel
After breakfast, begin your descent from Kyangjin back to Lama Hotel. This leg of the journey is mostly downhill, allowing you to savour the sweeping Himalayan vistas. You will spend the night at Lama Hotel, located at 2480 metres. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 8: Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi
Retrace your steps from Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi on an easy, predominantly downhill trek. Enjoy one last view of the Himalayan splendour before spending the night in Syabru Besi at 1500 metres in a guest house. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 9: Syabru Besi to Kathmandu
Travel from Syabru Besi back to Kathmandu by local bus or private vehicle – a journey of approximately 8 hours. Upon arrival, relax in Kathmandu and enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening. Farewell dinner included.
Day 10: Farewell
Bid farewell to the mountains as your Nepal journey draws to a close. Today is reserved for reflection, exchanging contact details with fellow travellers and organising your photos. If time permits, enjoy some shopping or sightseeing. At the scheduled departure time, a representative will escort you to the airport for your flight.
Note: In the event of an emergency during the trek, a helicopter will be arranged. Any associated costs must be covered by your insurance or paid by you directly.
