Ready for a new adventure? Join us for the Leith Hill Rhododendron Wood Hiking event. We'll explore Surrey's beautiful upland landscapes, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just outside London!
Difficulty:Intermediate (perfect for all Spartans!)
We'll meet near Boots (no 27) and set off at 9:10 am. We expect to return to London around 6:30 pm.
It will be a day full of great company, exciting challenges, and the natural beauty we love. Plus, we're covered by our club's insurance and are registered with the British Mountaineering Council (BMC), so you're in safe hands.
Hey everyone!
This Saturday, we’ve got an awesome hike lined up that’ll last between 6 to 8 hours, so get ready to have a great time out in nature. We’ll be moving at a steady pace, but don’t worry, we’re going to stop halfway for a picnic break. Make sure to bring something tasty to eat!
Our guides are top-notch and know their stuff—they’ll be carrying a first aid kit and are trained in first aid, so we’re all set. The best part? We’re a registered non-profit club with the BMC in the UK, so we’re all about having fun while keeping it serious too. Age doesn’t matter here, whether you’re 1 or 100, the only limits are the ones you set for yourself. Just a heads-up, if you’re the type who loves taking lots of photos, make sure to keep the group in sight.
After the hike, we’ll have about 1.5 to 3 hours (depending on the weather and daylight) to chill and grab some drinks at a nearby pub. It’s a great way to wrap up the day and get to know each other better!
Group Train Tickets: We have arranged group train tickets, ensuring that all attendees will travel together to and from the same station.
Individual Travel Options: If you prefer to return separately or disembark at a different station, please purchase your own individual train ticket in advance.
We will pause during the hike for a light lunch, so please remember to pack some food and drinks. After the hike, we'll visit a local pub where you can buy refreshments and enjoy a meal.
How to Find Us
Look out for Maria at the meeting point. We’ll leave the address in the "Transport and Meeting Point" section. If you can’t find her, don’t worry—you can call or text her at 07535295739.
What to Bring:
Clothing and Footwear: Make sure to dress comfortably, with clothes and shoes that are good for walking. If you’ve got hiking boots, even better!
Weather Protection: Don’t forget a waterproof jacket and trousers in case it rains. If you have waterproof shoes, bring those too.
Water: Bring at least 1 litre of water, but 2 litres would be perfect.
Lunch: Pack something you’ll enjoy eating outdoors, whether it’s a sandwich, salad, or whatever you fancy.
Extra Money: After the hike, we’re heading to the pub, so bring some cash if you want to buy drinks or food.
Pets
Dogs are welcome, but they need to stay on a leash at all times.
Safety First
Our guides are trained in first aid and will have a first aid kit on hand, so you’re in good hands.
